# Edit contact details in BluBash

> Update any contact's basic information, profile photo, custom fields, and metadata at any time directly from the contact detail page in BluBash.

You can update the information stored on any contact in BluBash at any time. This includes basic details such as name, email, and phone number, as well as the profile photo, custom fields, and metadata like company and job title.

  <Step title="Open the Contacts section">
    In the left sidebar, click **Contacts**.

  <Step title="Select the contact">
    In the contact list, click the contact you want to edit.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Enter edit mode">
    Click the **Edit** button (pencil icon) in the upper-right corner of the screen.

  <Step title="Update the information">
    Edit whichever fields you need:

    * **Basic information**: Name, email, phone, WhatsApp number.
    * **Profile photo**: Click the camera icon on the avatar to add or change the photo.
    * **Custom fields**: Fill in or update any personalised fields configured for your account.
    * **Metadata**: Company, job title, and other supplementary information.

  <Step title="Save your changes">
    Click **Update Contact** to confirm. Changes are applied immediately.

  If you change the WhatsApp number to one that is already registered on another contact, BluBash will display a conflict warning and let you decide how to proceed.

You can cancel edits at any time before saving by clicking the **Cancel** (X) button. All changes are recorded in the contact's activity timeline, and all required fields must be filled in before you can save.
