# Manage tags on a contact

> Add or remove tags on any BluBash contact to categorise your audience, speed up searches, and enable targeted segmentation for campaigns.

Tags help you organise and categorise your contacts in BluBash. By labelling contacts with relevant tags you can instantly identify characteristics, statuses, or types — making it much easier to find specific groups and run targeted campaigns.

**Why use tags?**

* **Organisation**: Categorise contacts by characteristics, status, or type.
* **Faster search**: Quickly locate specific groups of contacts.
* **Segmentation**: Create groups for campaigns and directed actions.
* **Traceability**: Tags remain attached to the contact across updates, giving you a reliable history.
