Deleting a channel permanently removes it and all of its settings from your workspace. Existing conversations are preserved in history but will no longer receive new messages. This action cannot be reversed, so only proceed when you are certain the channel is no longer needed.
If you only need to stop a channel temporarily, use the deactivate option instead. Deactivation preserves all configuration so you can reactivate the channel later.
1

Open the channel

  • In the left sidebar, click Channels.
  • Click the channel you want to delete.
  • You are taken to the channel detail page.
2

Open the deletion dialog

On the detail page, locate the Delete channel or Remove button and click it. A confirmation dialog opens.
3

Review the warnings and confirm

The dialog displays the following warnings before proceeding:
  • All conversations from this channel will be affected.
  • The channel cannot be restored after deletion.
  • Customers will no longer be able to send messages through this channel.
To confirm, type the exact channel name in the confirmation field, then click Confirm deletion or Delete.
Deletion is permanent and cannot be undone. Verify you have selected the correct channel before confirming.
4

Wait for completion

After confirmation, the channel is removed. You are redirected to the channels list, and a success message confirms the deletion.

What happens after deletion

  • The channel no longer appears in the channels list.
  • Existing conversation history is retained, but those conversations will not receive new inbound messages.
  • Customers cannot contact you through the deleted channel.
  • All configuration — including credentials, default team assignment, and AI agent — is permanently removed.
If you want to reconnect the same WhatsApp number in the future, you will need to create a new channel and complete the full setup process again.
