You can update a channel’s basic settings at any time after it has been created. Editable fields include the channel name, the default team that receives conversations, and the AI agent assigned to the channel. Connection credentials — such as WhatsApp API tokens — cannot be edited in place; if you need to change them, you must delete and recreate the channel.
1

Open the channel

  • In the left sidebar, click Channels.
  • Click the channel you want to edit.
  • You are taken to the channel detail page.
2

Locate the edit form

On the detail page, you will see a form with the current channel settings. The editable fields are:
  • Channel name
  • Default team
  • AI agent
Connection credentials (such as API tokens or QR code links) cannot be edited directly. To change them, delete the channel and create a new one.
3

Make your changes

  • Name — type the new channel name.
  • Default team — select a different team from the dropdown.
  • AI agent — choose another agent, or select “None” to remove the current one.
Changing the Default team only affects new conversations. Existing conversations remain assigned to the original team.
4

Save

Click Save or Update. A success message confirms the changes. The channel name updates immediately throughout the interface.
Changes take effect as soon as you click Save. There is no need to reload the page.
